Ok, so the whole Youtube idea isn't working....so I'm just going to post some individual pictures! :-
This picture was taken in the "suburbs" of Dnipropetrovsk during the first week of our trip. We we got to be a part of a teen camp next to this river.
This is smoked, dried fish for sale. We went to the Azov Sea for a day and half and there were stand after

actually very good.

These are flour pots with faces. I thought they were cute. They were sitting outside one of the house by the sea.
This is a Ukrainian bathroom! However, this picture does not represent the majority of the "facilities" we had
privilege of using. Most of them were....shall we say modern?

The next couple of pictures are from an orphanage for disabled children that we visited. In Ukrainian society, a child that is born with a handicap is seen as sub-human. In their culture, they are usually rejected at birth by their parents. Many of these children live their whole lives in an orphanage far away from the rest of the world. In the winter, many of them die for lack of food and clothing.
At the orphanage we visited, we sang and played and handed out bananas to everyone. Some of the smaller children we could not pick up or hold because their joints were just too fragile.
