Our family really enjoys hiking on the trails around our house. So, last Friday we went to the Kennesaw National Battlefield Park to get, probably our last rambling constitutional before the weather got too cold.
We walked/hiked for about two hours. It was an awesome day! Couple of weeks ago, on a Wednesday morning, I walked outside the church and saw a huge bird sitting on left arm of the cross! At first, I thought it was an owl but it turned out to be a very large hawk. Unfortunately, the one day I didn't bring my camera, something picture worthy happened. :-( sob, sob! The hawk sat on the cross for well over an hour surveying it's domain. The hawk returned the next Sunday morning, and I again failed to get a picture.
So now, hopefully I've learned my lesson. Never go anywhere without a camera! Just now I'm waiting for another chance to get a good picture of the big bird affectionately named Hawkeye! But, so far this feathered predator has not returned to the perch atop the cross. Below is a pic my lil' sis took with her ipod, but since it was so far away it's not the best. A couple of weeks ago, I went to Lake Weiss in Alabama for a Ukraine reunion. There was kayaking, swimming, fishing, and good conversation. It was great fun!
Sorry for my lack of posting!! My computer crashed a couple of weeks ago and so my Dad and I (mostly my Dad) :-) have been busy getting things back in order. As I promised, here are more Ukraine pics! Children's camp in Ternovka the first week. New friends from Zaporozhye. A group from the Zaporozhye church went to the Azov Sea for a weekend. American girls can cook!!! We had the privilege of attending a baptismal service the last Sunday we were in Ukraine.
