When I and my sisters were little, we loved to play house. I was always the "mother", Stacey was the " father", and Grace and Bethany were "the children".
Stacey has always been the most outdoorsy and tom-boyish of any of us girls. Nope, no fancy dresses, bows, or make-up for this gal! She is most comfortable in well-worn jeans and t-shirt, heavy boots, a large pocket knife and a perpetual ball-cap hat. Though her taste in clothes would probably never get her on the cover of a fashion magazine, one of Stacey's many talents is a large amount of creativity and skill in wood carving.
Over the years, Stacey has made quite a number of things from wood scraps and match sticks. Most recently, she has gotten some electric tools to help her with various projects. She often comes in for dinner covered in sawdust and with an occasional blister or two.
Stacey really enjoys wood working and is good at what she does. Besides being super talented, Godly, trustworthy, funny, strong, tenderhearted, determined, resourceful, and an EMT, Stacey is an awesome sister and best friend! Love ya, sis!

This morning I got up at 6:30 a.m. and went to a dog show! My sis, Grace, was asked to play the National Anthem at the beginning of the show, so Stacey and I tagged along. It was a lot of fun! There were so many dogs of all breeds and sizes. The show is an all-day show, but we were not able to stay but a couple of hours as Grace had to get home and study. But, here are some of the highlights. Getting a final grooming. Bitches (female dog) waiting to be shown. One of my favorite dogs is the Australian Shepherd, Blue Merle. This tri-colored Australian Shepherd won Best of Breed. Young Saint Bernard's on their way to the showing pen.
Hello, to the faithful few Readers! :-)
Here's another project I did a while back. Unfortunately, I'm just getting around to posting it. It's basically wooden clothes pins hot glued to a cardboard ring. To make it more colorful, I glued strips of flower pictures from magazines to the clothes pins. So, this is the finished product. It makes a great gift! I am always working on some sort of crafty project or another. Here is one of them. Recently, I've been wanting to get my jewelry organized so that I can find and see what I have. I wanted something that was easy to make, didn't take up much room, and didn't cost and an arm and a leg. So, this is what I came up with. A small framed cork-board, ribbon, wood beads, large pin tacks, and removable wall hooks. I already had some of the ribbon and the beads on hand so that didn't cost any extra. To attach the ribbon to the cork board I used staples. My lil' sis Bethany wanted an organizer too so I made a second one in purple ribbon. The cost for making this organizer was about $8 or $9 dollars apiece. And here is the finished product! Stay tuned for more DIY projects coming up!
:-D Y'all have an awesome day! A while ago, I began reading Ann Voskamp's book, One Thousand Gifts. While I am still in the process of reading it, along with about twenty-five other books :-), I recently started a gifts diary. My diary is basically a list of gifts. Daily, hourly, momentary gifts. Small gifts, gigantic gifts, medium sized gifts, gifts unmistakably blessings, gifts camouflaged in dark or cloudy happenstance. My goal with this diary is to not only be mindful of the many, many gifts God has bless me with, but to also see that good comes from a thousand sleepless nights when it drives us to the Savior. So....here are some of my gifts, some obvious, some subtle. My Gifts:
1. music 2. 3 true sisters 3. clouds across the blue sky 4. continual emotional demands 5. the cleansing power of the Word 6. a failed math test 7. an empty paper towel roll 8. fresh home-grown blueberries 9. Godly parents 10. muddy paw print on clean jean 11. pumpkin white hot chocolate 12. a glass of ice water 13. unusually shaped feet 14. answered prayer at 1:00 a.m. 15. ability to give 16. a new hair cut 17. dead batteries 18. hope, dashed 19. utter, complete neediness 20. definition of grace: being very, very special to someone |
